Development of a Unified Taxonomy for HVAC System Faults

چکیده

Detecting and diagnosing HVAC faults is critical for maintaining building operation performance, reducing energy waste, ensuring indoor comfort. An increasing deployment of commercial fault detection diagnostics (FDD) software tools in buildings the past decade has significantly increased buildings’ operational reliability reduced consumption. A massive amount data been generated by FDD tools. However, efficiently utilizing ‘big data’ analytics, algorithm improvement, other data-driven applications challenging because format naming conventions those are very customized, unstructured, hard to interpret. This paper presents development a unified taxonomy faults. an orderly classification according their characteristics causal relations. The includes categorization, physical hierarchy, library, relation model, naming/tagging scheme. employs both hierarchy equipment cause-effect relationship model reveal root causes systems. structured standardized vocabulary library developed increase representability interpretability. can be used system analytics such as prevalence analysis or standard. common type equipment-packaged rooftop unit (RTU) example demonstrate application taxonomy. Two RTU show that after mapping taxonomy, meta-analysis multiple reports possible efficient.

Development of an adaptive fuzzy logic controller for HVAC system

An adaptive approach to control a cooling coil chilled water valve operation, called adaptive fuzzy logic control (AFLC), is developed and validated in this study. The AFLC calculates the error between the supply air temperature and supply air temperature set point for air in an air handling unit (AHU) of a heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system and determines optimal fuzzy lo...

Unitary or unified taxonomy?

Taxonomic data form a substantial, but scattered, resource. The alternative to such a fragmented system is a 'unitary' one of preferred, consensual classifications. For effective access and distribution the (Web) revision for a given taxon would be established at a single Internet site. Although all the international codes of nomenclature currently preclude the Internet as a valid medium of pub...

Towards a Unified Taxonomy of Biclustering Methods

Being an unsupervised machine learning and data mining technique, biclustering and its multimodal extensions are becoming popular tools for analysing object-attribute data in different domains. Apart from conventional clustering techniques, biclustering is searching for homogeneous groups of objects while keeping their common description, e.g., in binary setting, their shared attributes. In bio...
